About me
I’ve always been a keen observer – at my age, I’ve become pretty good at it.
Over the last several years I have been honing my research skills. My research has been primarily focused on behavioral interventions used in K-12 education (including school shootings, shooters, etc.), and in law enforcement. I have used the data to design management accountability blockchain systems.
I am a great proponent of including all stakeholders when defining problems and building solutions within a community. As an example of this, I created an award-winning project with seniors living in public housing. The project, Recipe Re-Mix, helped low-income seniors learn how to eat a healthier diet with ingredients that were accessible to them.
After successful runs as an entrepreneur in the computer software and foodservice industries, while raising two daughters as a single parent (since they were 5 & 6 years old,) I decided to pursue a degree in higher education. I began my studies at Tri-C in 2010, and in 2012 I moved to Ithaca (NY) to complete my degree at Cornell University. I earned her degree in 2014 at the age of 56 from Cornell’s Industrial and Labor Relations.
