“I think it is very important that the community we serve understands what we are doing to ensure quality patient care…I think that’s the good news because people have heard so much about the “quality” scores previously and this is allowing us to leapfrog away”

Another important metric regarding patient care is the 30 day readmission rate https://t.co/78b3xBIvMS

There has been a recent spike in patient satisfaction of the hospital! Notably there is has also been an increase in response rate as well, with more patients responding you can expect this satisfaction number to increase https://t.co/jz1VSYkHNK

Moving on to the Finance Committee report which met on July 22, 2021, next meeting will be August 19, 2021 at 9 am

We are reviewing grants, the first for primary care training and prevention in the community to expand the residency program and include maternal health care

The next grant expands focus on telehealth and mental health in training

Another 1.5 million dollar grant for nursing education to increase training in sexual assault services and examinations as well as to increase relationships with policy makers and community advocacy

We are now reviewing the year to date financial updates
“Thought the end of May we are 84 million ahead of budget” https://t.co/xAR05avJFl

U.S. news and world rankings recognized John Stronger Health as a high performing health care Overall Heart Failure Score

The board is discussing the impact of the delta variant on hospital safety, they are seeing higher rates of COVID-19 positive tests during routine screenings even among unrelated admissions

They will be implementing updated screening protocols and masks continue to be required on site for all people

“Now is this moment. If you waited, think about it again. If you have been lulled into not getting the vaccine as cases went down. This is the time to make the plan for you and your family. Please. Take this moment to do so”

A question about booster shots, there are no current plans to provide these in alliance with the FDA and CDC; however, there is capacity to quickly ramp up mass vaccination sites as needed, “we would be ready to mobilize”

Regarding mandated vaccines for employees, new information about this will be forthcoming in the news very shortly

Now on to the forecasted budget, which will be presented in the context of the cook county budget

We are discussing the impact of COVID on the Cook County Budget, vaccinations are being highlighted as a key part of economic recovery https://t.co/WIZ8EWyLOT

Increased efficiency in providing services has reduced the FTE rate https://t.co/ddtsG5N3Dm

COVID-19 related federal funding is not anticipated to continue into 2022
