Howdy all! I will be live-tweeting today’s IndyGo Board of Directors meeting for #indydocumenters @indydocumenters @mirrorindy - the meeting starts in about an hour, so stay tuned!
09:04 AM Sep 25, 2024 CDT
The meeting is beginning promptly at 11:00 a.m. Greg Hahn, board chair, has just called us to order and performed roll call.
Jennifer Pyrz, CEO of IndyGo, presented awards. Most notably, Carrie Black is officially the Chief Public Affairs Officer (no longer interim!)
Next, Greg Hahn moved us into committee reports. There were no objections to adding the finance and service committee report, so we moved into the consent agenda.
In the consent agenda, item A8 was removed from the consent agenda and moved into the regular agenda based on a motion by treasurer Richard Wilson. The rest of the consent agenda was approved.
We moved into Action Item A-2, presented by Matt Duffy, Director of Capital Projects at IndyGo. This action item recommends increasing IPTC's contribution to the Citizen's Purple Line utility relocation costs from three million to four million dollars.
The board had no questions on this Action Item. The motion passed to approve the increase.
Next up, presented by Chief Legal Officer Robert Frye, was Action Item A-3. Frye recommended entering into an agreement with several law firms to contract with them when their internal legal team does not have the capacity to handle the legal needs.
Treasurer Richard Wilson asked if rate was locked in with these contracts; Frye answered that it is locked in for three years. Chair Greg Hahn decided to recuse himself from the vote since he has a relationship with one of the firms they are contracting with.
Adairius J. Gardner, Vice Chair asked if these contracts would cover all legal needs, Frye answered yes. The motion passed.
Chief Financial Officer Bart Brown shared the August Financial Summary. The total revenue is over budget by $404,670 for the month of August; $6,443,038 over for the YTD. Total expeditures in August came in under budget by $128,976; $12,627,341 under for the YTD.
Board Chair Greg Hahn shared that between this board meeting and next meeting, they will be opening the Purple Line. Jennifer Pyrz, CEO, urged people to learn about the changes, and shared that service will begin for the Purple Line on October 13.
Board Chair Greg Hahn thanked everyone on the staff and everyone who has been contributing to this "Herculean" effort.
Board Chair Greg Hahn shared that the IndyGo Foundation golf outing is tomorrow. It looks like there will be a huge turnout and they will sneak in between the rain!
