The Cuyahoga Falls Board of Education consists of five elected community members who reside in the Cuyahoga Falls City School District. Board members are elected to four-year terms on an alternating election cycle.
What Does the Board of Education Do?
• Adopts a shared vision/mission that keeps students as the focus and commits to using the vision/mission to guide decisions • Adopts policies and allocates resources that support teaching and learning
• Employs and evaluates the performance of the superintendent and treasurer
• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by monitoring revenue/expenditures
• Assists in the design of a Strategic Plan with long-term goals and short-term objectives that are regularly monitored and reported to the community
• Approves contracts and determines the need/type/timeline for levies
• Advocates for families and children and leads celebrations of student achievement
